The "Schorsch" - a unique one-off of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR).
The steam locomotive 18 314 of the German State Railroad (DR) of the GDR, later called “Schorsch”, has an unusual, even extraordinary life story. Once in service in 1919 as the Baden “noble racer” of the “IV h” series, DRG took it over as 18 314. After the end of the Second World War, the locomotive was exchanged for an S 3/6 in the Soviet zone, where the later VES-M Halle urgently needed a fast four-cylinder compound steam locomotive for test drives. In order to be even faster, it was given a Reko boiler, partial cladding, a new driver's cab and tender and a green paint job in 1960. The icing on the cake was the conversion to main oil firing in 1967. At the end of 1971 it was shut down and sold to the FRG in 1984. Since 1986, on permanent loan from the HEF, it has been one of the highlights in the Auto and Technology Museum in Sinsheim.

Conversion version as a test locomotive of the VES-M Halle (Saale). Version with Reko boiler and partial cladding, based on the steam locomotive 18 314 (former Badische IVh). With Witte smoke deflectors and one-sided Indusi. The car looks as it did around 1970/71.
