Double-decker trains have been proven solutions in regional transport for years, especially on short platforms and with high passenger volumes. Bombardier is delivering 16 new TWINDEXX Vario multiple units to Deutsche Bahn – four-car units with two power cars and two intermediate cars. Thanks to their own drive systems, they can be used flexibly as electric multiple units or in conventional locomotive operation. The trains offer high comfort, variable capacity thanks to modular carriage numbers, and are suitable for diverse regional and long-distance services.
