This PIKO SmartDecoder XP 5.1 PluX22 is a compact, very powerful multi-protocol decoder of the latest generation.
It complies with the current RCN standards in all areas and can be used in DCC, mfx and Motorola digital systems.
It also works in analogue mode with direct or alternating current. The decoder is RailCom and RailCom Plus capable.
The innovative PIKO SmartDecoder XP5.1 with many braking section functions automatically recognizes the respective operating mode and has a wide range of setting options for the additional functions.
The load-controlled decoder works with a fundamentally newly developed auto-adaptive motor control for silky smooth driving and is therefore suitable not only for DC motors, but also for bell-shaped armature motors with a continuous current consumption of up to 1.2 A. Short-term higher motor currents of up to 2 A are well tolerated.
The decoder can handle ABC braking, ABC automatic pendulum control and ABC slow travel. The motor characteristic curve is set using the minimum, medium and maximum speed (simple characteristic curve) or the extended characteristic curve with individual settings for 28 speed levels. The decoder has two lighting outputs that depend on the direction of travel, as well as seven additional special function outputs that can be switched using function keys up to F68 (DCC).
The shunting gear with extended slow travel range and the three possible acceleration and braking delays can also be switched using function keys. The sound of a suitable SUSI sound module can control specified function outputs as well as the motor output of the decoder.
For example, the lighting of a diesel locomotive flickers when the motor is started. The advanced power management supports the PIKO SmartDecoder XP 5.1 in the event of a short-term loss of power.
