Since 2003, the metronome has been connecting the north in Lower Saxony, Hamburg and Bremen with its yellow and blue locomotive-hauled double-decker trains. metronom Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH is a non-federally owned railway company based in Uelzen (Lower Saxony).
The company operates five lines covering 390 kilometers in local public transport under the metronom brand.
The ME 146-12 comes from the second delivery series of eight TRAXX type P160 AC2 locomotives built in 2005, which is based on the crash-optimized locomotive body of the DB series 185.2.
