Steam locomotive BR 78 DB, epoch IV
With 21-pin digital interface. Regulated high-performance drive with a flywheel in the boiler. 3 axles powered. Traction tires. Locomotive largely made of metal. Set up for smoke generator 72270. The triple headlights and the smoke generator contact change over with the direction of travel, and will work in conventional operation. Illumination with maintenance-free warm white light-emitting diodes (LED) Numerous attached handle bars and cables made of metal. Passable minimum radius 360 mm. Piston rod protection tubes and brake hoses are included. Length over the buffers approx. 17 cm.
Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) class 78 steam locomotive (former Prussian T18). Version with three boiler structures (D-D-S), square sandpit. Riveted water boxes, cab roof with square structure, triple headlights with DB reflex glass lamps. Road number 78 516. Located in Essen. Operating condition around 1965.
