Diesel locomotive BR 120 of the DR
including PIKO sound decoder
New for 2025: For use in front of heavy freight trains, the Luhansk locomotive factory developed a six-axle diesel-electric locomotive based on the SZD's TE10 series, built from 1958 onwards. The first two prototypes, the M62 01 and M62 02, were delivered to the SZD in 1964. Between 1966 and 1975, the Deutsche Reichsbahn (German State Railways) took delivery of a total of 378 locomotives of this series. Particularly striking in the first batch of M62s was the lack of a silencer, which earned the locomotive the nickname "Taiga Drum" in the GDR due to its exhaust noise.
