A large crossing switch and the crossing angle 15 ° - a contradiction? Not at all !! Even in the original there are no particularly flat crossover points, not even with external tongues! They all have the inclination 1: 9 (stands for angle), like the smallest usual turnouts (190-1: 9). Consequently, in our system this is the angle 15 °, as with the EW 2 switch (r = 484 mm). That doesn't change the fact that these crossings with the branch track radius of at least 1050 mm belong in elegant access roads, combined with the large EW 1 and EW 3 turnouts with radii of 866 and 1350 mm. After all, just like in the original, the radius alone is decisive for driving comfort. Suitable connections with the flatter 12 ° switch can be made using connecting bends - as in the original with the switch 500-1: 12, which is split to 1: 9.
