Sound steam locomotive BR 78 DR III AC version, including PIKO sound decoder and steam generator
New for 2020: Finally, there is a contemporary replacement for the very popular and previously widespread BR 78 in the form of a new design from PIKO - and with it the first steam locomotive in the Expert product line. The model hangs a little higher than the established standard of the Expert range. Almost all lines are free-standing, the driver's cab, water boxes and smoke chamber are adorned with the finest replicas of the rivet heads. Wheelset stars and controls could be made extremely filigree due to the materials used. The five-pole PIKO motor with a flywheel ensures excellent driving characteristics. Additional weights in the bowl and two traction tires generate a high level of traction.
A PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 with a suitable vehicle sound and mfx functionality is installed ex works. With built-in smoke generator ex works. The direction-dependent lighting in LED design ensures an authentic operating atmosphere. Brake hoses for retrofitting are included.
