Description:

Electric locomotive 193 478 of the Swiss Federal Railways. Epoch VI.

Motor with flywheel. Drive on four axles. Two traction tyres. Four pantographs. Coupler pocket according to NEM 362 standards with close coupling mechanism. LED-Lighting with light changeover according to the Swiss original.

Model with digital decoder and digitally switchable sound and light functions as well as a buffer capacitor for an uninterruptible power supply.

Due to the increase in traffic, the continuing strong international competition and the opening of the Gotthard Basis Tunnel, the SBB considered buying even more multiple-current-system locomotives. Given the positive experiences with the multiple-current-system locomotives from Siemens in the domestic traffic, the SBB launched a tender on the market and later leased 18 Vectron locomotives on a long-term basis.
