Consisting of a 1st class open seating car, type Apmz 121.1, a 1st class compartment car, type Avmz 111.1 and a dining car, type WRmh 132.1.

For the 1987 summer timetable, new quality standards were set for cross-border InterCity trains in terms of rolling stock, speed and service. Trains that met these criteria were given the designation "EuroCity".
The EC 24 "Erasmus" connected the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck via Munich and Frankfurt am Main, then along the Rhine via Emmerich to the Dutch capital Amsterdam.

The cars in this set belong to the main part of the train and were used on the entire route.
A special treat is the dining car from the former TEE "Rheingold" from 1983, which was discontinued exactly for the start of EuroCity in 1987: Only the orange Rheingold stripe was removed from two dining cars, while the "Restaurant" lettering remained orange and they with it more than four years into interesting "spots of color", especially in EC trains to the Netherlands.
